At Chain Gang MTB Club, we believe every rider deserves the joy and confidence that comes from riding a bike.
Our mountain bike club offers a fun, supportive, and safe environment for kids of all ages and skill levels — from first-time pedalers wanting to lose the training wheels and learn2ride to young shredders looking to master advanced trail techniques.
Through expert coaching, structured lessons, and plenty of trail time, we help children develop not only their biking abilities but also their resilience, independence, and love for the outdoors. Whether your child is just learning to ride or ready to tackle challenging terrain, there’s a place for them here.
Chain Gang has been running successful skills group sessions since 2016 in both private, estate and school environments and is involved in the Gauteng Cycling XCO, XCC, School Series and XCM Event Series. These are all incredible race space to grow and develop enthusiatic little riders. We also offer the opportunity to prep, guide and coach riders who want to compete more seriously, in those disciplines with the skills set we coach.
The fundamentals of MTB is imperative as well as respect for your bike and trail, and others around you whilst understanding the terrain and how to tackle it.
Bicycle size is important and we will guide and suggest changes to ensure that the correct size for you/your child’s ride, so they can have the best experience while riding. We instil safety to mountain biking by teaching the skills to ride sensibly, build confidence both on, and off, the bike, and build courage and understanding to be able to tackle new obstacles, in a safe and respectful manner.

Chief cook and bottle washer, Coaching since 2016. Certified international MTB Skills Instructor, Certified UCI level 1 instructor, Certified Training Peaks Coach, Certified Sports Psychology Level 1, Provincial and District Colours XCC, XCO, Serves on the MTB Commission, Primary School Representative for Schools Cycling SA, Mom, Athlete, Photographer, Graphic Designer. Lifetime Achievement Award for Gauteng MTB.

Certified UCI level 1 instructor, Certified Bike mechanic, passionate rider, patient with coaching kids.

Three decades deeply embedded in South African cycling, contributing across racing, media, team management, skills development, and women’s advocacy. Competitor, Team manager at the Absa Cape Epic, MTB skills, Over 30 years in cycling media, founded Cycle Lab Active Women, Women’s Commission representative for Mountain Biking South Africa
